The Charlotte Bobcats announced on Tuesday afternoon that guard Gerald Henderson will undergo hip surgery to repair a torn labrum.
Henderson is expected to be sidelined for the next 4-6 months.
The Duke University product was the 12th pick in the 2009 NBA draft. Henderson showed major improvement under coach Paul Silas scoring double figures in 22 of the final 28 games of the 2010-2011 season.
In 68 games this past season Henderson averaged 9.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game. In his two year career he has averaged 6.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 18.8 minutes per contest.
