WNBA Draft Results

To no one’s surprise the Minnesota Lynx made Connecticut’s Maya Moore the number one pick in the 2011 WNBA draft.

Moore, a four-time All-American, averaged 22.8 points in her senior season at Connecticut. She is the second straight UConn player to be taken with the first pick in the draft, and fourth overall.

The Lynx finished 13-21 last season and won the draft lottery and the right to make Moore the face of their franchise.

Elizabeth Camabage of Australia was taken with the No. 2 overall pick by the Tulsa Shock and Courtney Vandersloot was drafted with the third overall pick by the Chicago Sky. Xavier’s Amber Harris was taken fourth overall by the Lynx and Jantel Lavender rounded out the top-5 by going to the Los Angeles Sparks.
