UNC opens season, floating on water

The San Diego Sports Commission confirmed to The Associated Press that Michigan State and North Carolina will play in the “Carrier Classic” on Veterans Day.

The payoff? It’s the first NCAA basketball game to be played aboard an aircraft carrier.

Per the AP:

The commission, working with Morale Entertainment Foundation, says it has received written commitments from the two schools and that approval from the U.S. Navy is expected soon.

While the particular aircraft carrier is unknown, the date is. Nov. 11 2011.

The real question is who will be the starting five for UNC?
