UCLA guard Malcolm Lee has had enough of playing with the little boys. He’s leaving UCLA for the NBA.
He plans to hire an agent and won’t be eligible to return for his senior season. Lee told The Associated Press Tuesday that he is immediately withdrawing from school.
It’s an intriguing move for a player who averaged 13.1 points(second-best on the team) and 3.1 rebounds per game this season. Granted, he was voted first-team All-Pac-10 and to the league’s All-Defensive team.
Consider, too, the Pac-10 had a “down” year.
Lee, it would seem, is looking to make his money quickly.
The move isn’t too surprising, though, when taken with a grain of context: 10 players have been drafted from UCLA in the past seven years.
Both Lee and teammate Tyler Honeycutt have now declared for the draft this year.
