The Denver Nuggets Oklahoma City Thunder series will start without Arron Afflalo.
“I think the goal right now is to get everybody ready and I think that’ll probably happen,” Denver Nuggets Head Coach George Karl told reporters.
And being ready means Afflalo will be riding the pine util he is ready. Right now, he is nursing a strained left hamstring.
The Nuggets guard, who averaged 12.4 points and 2.4 assists per game during the regular season will miss Game 1.
Afflalo told reporters at the team’s morning shootaround Sunday, “for once it’s time to be smart and sit out.”
Afflalo missed 13 games in March and April because of the injury. He tried to come back in time for the playoffs – playing last week against Golden State and re-aggravating the injury – but he will have to start this series on the bench.
Game 2 in the series is Wednesday night, but Afflalo isn’t sure he’ll be able to play then either.
