Jimmer Fredette received over 3,500 votes for the John R. Wooden Award – and won.
The award is given to college basketball’s player of the year. Fredette received 3,761 votes and bested Kemba Walker’s 3.356 votes.
Fredette accepted the trophy from Jim Wooden – John Wooden’s son.
UConn’s Maya Moore won the women’s award for the second straight year.
