For a while, Frank Martin was pretty popular. An endorsement from Miami Heat forward Udonis Halsem. His trip to Miami where he was inducted into the Miami High School Hall of Fame. And then, the multiple “sightings” of Martin with Miami officials.
But, the Frank Martin rumor mill has slowed to a stop in the past few days. And is at a stand-still today.
Perhaps it’s because Frank Martin will be staying at Kansas State.
Today, The [Five] learned, on a condition of anonymity, that Elchorst is trying to reach back to his Wisconsin roots for a coach.
Miami’s new Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst all-but stated “Frank Martin is not going to be hired” when he said “I want our kids to be treated in a very respectful and loving manner. I want a positive person. I don’t like negative people.”
Frank Martin is a great coach but lacks the “positive” and “loving” coaching style Elchorst described. This might not come as a surprise, but it’s definitely putting a stop to all of the Frank Martin gossip.
