Wednesday marks the 49th anniversary of NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain scoring a record 100 points in a single game.
On March 2, 1962, the Philadelphia Warriors center made history by scoring the most points ever in a single game in a 169-147 victory over the New York Knicks in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Chamberlain went 36-for-63 from the field and 28-for-32 from the foul line, a remarkable feat for a man whose career free throw percentage was barely above 50-percent.
Chamberlain’s 100-point record stands to this day and will likely never be broken.
