The fourth pick in the 1982 NFL Draft is headed to court Tuesday.
Art Schlichter, former Ohio State quarterback, has been charged with stealing more than $1 million from an Ohio woman. He was charged with theft Monday in Franklin County Municipal Court in Columbus.
Schlichter was the first NFL player to be suspended for gambling since Alex Karras and Paul Hornung were suspended in 1963 for betting on NFL games. The NFL suspended him for life.

In January 1987, Schlichter was arrested in New York City for his involvement in a multimillion-dollar sports betting operation. He pleaded guilty to illegal gambling in April, and Commissioner Pete Rozelle refused to permit him to sign with another team. He made another bid for reinstatement in 1988, but was turned down.
Schlichter, 50, played for the Buckeyes in the late 70s and early 80s. He spent a decade in prison for gambling-related crimes.
This time, Schlichter is accused of stealing more than $1 million from a woman in Dublin.
He played for the Baltimore and Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills, and the Detroit and Cincinnati Arena League teams.
