Round the ‘Block: 2/8/11

Great show last night… No guests, but who doesn’t like listening to me blabber on for two hours about absolutely nothing? Oh, no one likes it, you say? No one tuned in? Crud.

Oh, and bonus “legacy” podcasts available from the show on January 31, 2011!

My Five Cents

A former Oregon Duck is in the news for – as they say at 1440 WNFL – “being a pain in the ash.”

Rockets’ guard Aaron Brooks is T.O.’d about is dimished role in the offense and walked off the court in the fourth quarter of the Rockets 95-93 win over the Grizzles on Saturday. He finished with six points in 14 minutes. He was 2-for-6 from the field and 0-for-2 beyond the arc.

Perhaps instead of pouting he should work on his shooting. He’s only shot above 40-percent five times in the last 20 games.

Tuesday Morning Trix

I’m not a big fan of soccer, but I’ve got to give s shout out to the Portland Timbers whenever I can… or something. Anyway, Portland Timbers forward, Bright Dike, had surgery to repair a ruptured right Achilles’ tendon Monday.

Dr. John Greenleaf, the team’s director of medicine, performed the surgery.

The great thing about Achilles’ tendons is they heal up real fast. Not. The 24-year-old plans on rehab’ing for roughly six-to-nine months, which means he will miss most if not all of the Timbers’ first season in Major League Soccer.

Dike ruptured the tendon during Friday’s preseason game against the Ventura County Fusion. No word on how the team plans to replace him.

NickelBlock’d

The worlds dumbest person was caught trying to steal a car from a firefighter…. It’s in the last segment of 2/8/11.
