The Colorado Rockies have signed free-agent pitcher John Maine to a minor league contract with an invite to Spring Training.
The deal will guarantee Maine approximately $3 million if he makes the Rockies 25-man roster.
The former New York Met had received interest from several teams this offseason as he battles back from shoulder surgery. He had been rumored to sign a minor-league deal with the Philadelphia Phillies but chose Colorado due to its clearer path to a spot in their rotation.
