Reggie Miller fails to make Hall of Fame finalists

Former NBA star Reggie Miller will have to wait at least another year before having an opportunity to receive the highest individual honor in his sport.

The former Indiana Pacers star failed to make the list of finalists for the 2011 induction class according to Yahoo! Sports. Miller was considered the most heralded nominee of this year’s class but apparently did not receive the necessary votes to become a finalist in his first year of eligibility.

Nominees need to appear on seven on nine ballots in order to become a finalist for the hall of fame. They then need to receive at least 18 of 24 votes to be enshrined in the hall of fame.

The five-time All Star ended his career after the 2005 season as the NBA leader in 3-pointers. The Pacers all-time leading scorer was a five-time All-Star and known for his late-game heroics and deadly outside shot.

  1. How did this guy get skipped on the Hall of Fame. Watching him shoot the 3 pointer was a clinic. He made the Pacers, and was the only reason a NY would hate Indiana.

    • I mean, c’mon, Reggie only had 25,000-some points and 2,500-some 3-pointers…. Michael Jordan racked up as many points in just 11 seasons – and two of those seasons he only saw action in 18 or fewer games.
