The Oakland Raiders have signed DT John Henderson to a two-year, $8 million contract.
The 10-year veteran struggled to stay healthy last season, missing seven games with a stress fracture in his foot. Henderson recorded 30 tackles and did not register a sack in 2010.
The 32-year old had been a pillar of consistency up until last season–his first in Oakland–and the Raiders are banking that he can return to that form. That’s how the team justified a hefty pay raise despite a soft season.
Henderson’s deal certainly won’t break the bank. Henderson, along with Richard Seymour, and Tommy Kelly form a formidable trio in the middle of the Raiders’ defensive line.
