The Indianapolis Colts have released long time safety Bob Sanders.
Colts owner Jim Irsay announced the move via twitter.
“We have released Bob Sanders today. We thank Bob 4 all his incredible contributions from his Sup Bowl pic 2 def player of year honors,” Irsay said Friday morning.
Sanders, who has played in nine regular season games over the past three seasons, was signed through the 2012 season.
This guy in Madden would a 100 overall rating as a safety…but have a 0 injury rating. Guy is so good, and so brittle at the same time that it forces you to have a good back up….. aka expendable.
Agreed. Sadly his Achilles heel is his propensity to be injured. He’ll get signed, no doubt, but he needs to be moved into a scheme that allows him to play near the line but only in a nickel-type situation. Truthfully, I think he would be a great addition to a team like Philadelphia.
