Cavaliers set futile record in 24th straight defeat

The Cleveland Cavaliers have made history. Unfortunately it is not the type of history they want to be associated with.

The Cavs set an NBA record on Saturday night with the 24th consecutive defeat falling to the Portland Trailblazers by a final score of 111-105.

Cleveland’s last victory came back on Saturday, December 18th in a 109-102 win over the New York Knicks. They have yet to win a game in 2011 and are 8-43 on the season.

The Cavs next chance to snap their record losing streak will come on Monday night when they travel to Dallas to take on the Mavericks. Cleveland then has a trio of winnable games against the Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Clippers, and Washington Wizards.
