The AP is reporting Denver Broncos running back Laurence Maroney has been arrested in St. Louis.
Maroney only played in four games this season. He is accused of possessing drugs and a weapon.
The AP spoke with Publicist Jane Higgins Tuesday. She confirmed Maroney was in the vehicle where five people were arrested Monday night. She told the AP the 25-year-old athlete has a permit to carry a gun, and denies he is accused of possessing drugs.
The Broncos haven’t commented on the story.
