The Seattle Mariners have agreed to minor league deals with two players.
The M’s will bring in outfielder Jody Gerut and left-hander Nate Robertson to spring training.
The Mariners have 19 non-roster invitees coming to their major league camp. Gerut and Robertson will most likely be “two-way” salary optioned (one for their time in the minors and another if they are placed on the 40-man during the season).
The 33-year-old Gerut played for Cleveland under new Seattle manager Eric Wedge and was last seen in a Milwaukee Brewers uiniform. But, he was sidelined for more than two months with a bruised left heel and only played in 32 games.
The 33-year-old Robertson was a big name in Detroit, winning 12 then 13 games in 2004 and 2006, respectivly. Last season, Robertson was 6-8 with a 5.47 ERA in 19 games with Florida.
