The Indiana Pacers have fired head coach Jim O’Brien.
According to Yahoo! Sports, O’Brien was informed of the team’s decision in a meeting with Pacers President Larry Bird on Sunday morning. Frank Vogel will serve as the interim head coach for the Pacers.
The Pacers went 121-169 under O’Brien in just over three seasons and failed to make the playoffs.
After getting off to a 9-7 start this season, Indiana has struggled winning just eight of their last 38 games. They were 17-27 this season when the decision was announced.
Vogel makes his head coaching debut against Toronto. He’ll try to net a win for only the second time in Pacers last nine games.
