Brett Favre officially Retires

It’s finally over.

Brett Favre has officially retired from the National Football League.

The legendary quarterback filed his retirement papers with the league early Monday morning according to FoxSports.com’s Alex Marvez.

The “Iron-Man” QB finishes his career leading in nearly every statistical category created for quarterbacks – good and bad.

He was an 11-time Pro Bowl player, three-time MVP. One-time Super Bowl winner.

The list doesn’t stop there, though. He was the 1995 NFL AP MVP, 1995 NFL Pro Football Writers Association MVP, 1995 NFL Newspaper Ent. Assoc. MVP, 1995 NFL Bert Bell Award (Player of the Year), 1995 NFL AP Offensive Player of the Year, 1996 NFL AP MVP, 1996 NFL PFWA MVP, 1996 NFL Newspaper Ent. Assoc. MVP, 1996 NFL Bert Bell Award (Player of the Year), 1997 NFL AP MVP.

He was also an All-Pro 19 times.

Number 4 played 20 seasons in the NFL, one in Atlanta, 16 in Green Bay, one in New York (Jets) and two in Minnesota. He leaves the game with a record of 186-112, ranked as the fourth best player, based on statistics, since 1950 according to pro-football-reference.com.

He started in the second-most playoff games in NFL history – only Jerry Rice has him beat.
