Vikings QB Brett Favre is inactive for Monday Night’s game against the New York Giants at Ford Field in Detroit.
It will be the first time Favre has missed a game since he became a starter for the Green Bay Packers in Week 3 of the 1992 season.
His iron man streak is snapped at 297 games.
For whatever thoughts you have about Favre, his streak was simply incredible.
Favre has battled injuries throughout the season and was hurt again during the Vikings Week 13 contest against the Buffalo Bills when rookie LB Arthur Moats drove Favre to the turf which caused a sprained joint in his throwing shoulder.
Colts QB Peyton Manning now has the longest consecutive games streak in the NFL with 204 straight appearances.
For Favre, the streak is over. Now the question becomes: is his season, and ultimately his career coming to an end as well?
