The American League Champion Texas Rangers made their first splash in free agency by signing C Yorvit Torrealba to a 2-year $6.25 million deal.
Torrealba hit .271 with seven homers and 37 RBI in 95 games with San Diego last season. He started 89 games, and the Padres’
pitchers had a 3.14 ERA in those games.
