SYRACUSE, NY – The annual Pride of New York Harvest Fest was at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse last weekend showcasing businesses that make and sell their products in New York.

For $25, people who came to the festival were able to eat and drink many state-grown and harvested products. The event featured everything from cheese to cookies to the popular beer and wines.
Last year was the first year that Harvest Fest was in Syracuse. There were over 4,000 visitors in attendance. And this year, the goal for the event was to increase the number of people who came and to provide more vendors and selections.
People were able to purchase their favorite wines and foods at the festival. Beer wasn’t allowed to be sold but companies, like Syracuse’s own Empire Brewing Company and Middle Ages Brewing Company, were in attendance to give samples of their products and to get promotion.
Next weekend, the Harvest Fest will travel to Albany.
Growth for Business
Over 100 businesses were represented at the Harvest Fest.
Some have already built up a name for themselves. Companies such as Empire Brewing Company, Glenora Wine Cellars, and Yancey’s Fancy are featured across New York. Other food vendors already have spots on shelves reserved in stores like Wegman’s and Tops.
Other companies are just getting their feet off the ground, such as Organically Hip and Koop’s Kitchen. The food vendors came out in full force this year trying to get their names and products out in public by offering a variety of products. The menu at the event included cookies, cheeses, yogurts, jams, sauces, and baking mixes.
All of which was made in New York.
