As much as people love to hate the New York Yankees, they do some amazing things. Today the Yankees, A-Line up, will meet the Virginia Tech Hokies for an exhibition game. The Steinbrenner family pledged $1 Million, after the tragic events took place on the campus.
The two squads will meet at Virginia Tech’s field for a seven inning game, which will be shown for free on MLB.TV. All of the Yankees top players are expected to participate including Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez. Hideki Matsui however remains at the clubs spring training facility in Tampa, Fla.
During batting practice the Yankees will be wearing Hokie colored Yankee hats with the VT logo on the side, before putting on the traditional blue Yankee cap with the VT logo emblazoned on the side. All of the Yankee hats worn on the field will be up for auction.
